David Spring grew up near Plattsburgh, NY and went to the Crane School of Music for his bachelor’s and masters degrees. He taught music in public schools for 30 years and his well-earned retirement started in 2017. Dave’s last education position was teaching and directing the middle school band in Cairo-Durham Central School District in upstate New York.

While teaching at Cairo-Durham, Dave was involved with 26 musical comedy productions serving as either accompanist, conductor, or music director. He has also played keyboards for many musical comedy productions in Greene County and the surrounding areas.

Dave has performed with many local groups and musical projects over the years including The Hudson Valley Chorale Society, The Treble Choraliers, The Hudson Valley Youth Chorale, The Plattsburgh Summer Theater, The Chorale Arts Society of Plattsburgh, Musical Comedies in Columbia-Greene Counties, Family Players of Guilderland, Impulse Theater and Dance, and The Greene Room Players. He has also performed on the WAMC Northeast Public Radio show The Roundtable.

In addition to education and community service, Dave self-produced a CD of original music. He also published arrangements of vocal and piano music. He is the organist at the Episcopal Church in Greenville, NY, and plays with The Bill and Linda Harrison Trio and Downtown Horns. Dave currently resides in Greenville with his wonderful wife Judy and two sons.
